What exactly is a credit?
One credit is one AI reading — a receipt scanned or an expense spoken. Everything else in the app is unlimited and always free: manual entries, insights, search, and PDF or Excel exports. If a scan fails, the credit is returned to you automatically.
Do I need an account to start?
No. You can open the app and start scanning straight away as a guest, with 10 credits to try it. Creating a free account raises you to 30 credits every month and turns on cloud backup, so your history survives a lost or replaced phone.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Nothing you have already saved is affected, and the app keeps working — you can still add expenses by hand, browse insights and export. To resume AI scanning you can wait for the monthly refill, top up a one-off pack, or move to Pro.
Which currencies and languages are supported?
Receipts are read in whatever currency they were printed in, and converted into the base currency you choose. Voice entry follows your device's dictation languages — including Bahasa Indonesia, English, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Hindi, Arabic and many more.
Is my data private?
Your expenses belong to you. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, receipt images are stored in a private area only your account can reach, and nothing is ever sold or shared with advertisers. You can delete your account and every record attached to it from inside the app, at any time.
Is there an Android version?
ShotXpense is on iOS today, and the Android build is in closed testing now. Write to us and we will add you to the tester list so you get it the moment it opens up.
